It is possible to be a laughingstock and a threat at the same time.
The Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus posted a "Saving Private Ryan" meme that cast themselves as the Nazis. Ron DeSantis’ "War Room" posted an openly bigoted video claiming that Trump was too nice to LGBTQIA+ folks which compares DeSantis to a criminal (Peaky Blinders), a delusional homicidal misogynistic shallow yuppie (American Psycho), a white collar criminal (Wolf of Wall Street), and a warrior known for having a conspicuous weakness and a gay lover (Achilles). Oh, and they also compare DeSantis to Gigachad. "While the Gigachad is intimidating, he has taken on a Himbo-ish quality in memes, as his perceived superiority often comes from not thinking very critically."
On one hand, it’s amusing how badly they do not understand what they’re talking about.
On the other hand, it’s clear that they — particularly DeSantis — are telling us exactly who they really are (as if their actions were not enough).
The bigotry oozing off the DeSantis video … well, I’d compare them to bullies.
To wanna-be Nazis.
Except they already did that, all on their own.
