This cartoon (which I found on imgur, but has apparently been all over Tumblr, so attribution would be appreciated) really spoke to me.
I’ve been struggling with feeling … worthy. With feeling that I’m a worthwhile person. With feeling like I’m not the “least worst option” lately.
I recently met someone new who I really enjoy being around.
And when I told her that, she dissembled. She questioned her own worth, and my judgement.
I know she’s wrong. But trying to get her to believe it … well, I realized it’s very much like trying to get me to believe it as well.
And I know she is pretty awesome, so by association, that means… I might not be completely awful myself.
I’m working on it, I know.
But at least it’s a start.
