Getting basic details right is essential for genre writers.
Sometimes the metaphor is just… right there.
Being able to take critique is more important than any amount of talent.
And why it’s important to do better.
I’m fascinated by this wanted ad literally hiring writers to write very specific fiction, and repelled by pretty much everything else about it.
There’s one detail that clearly puts Encanto in one genre instead of another – that and the *other* allegory at the center of the film.
