Ohioans: If You Think Booze Should Be Legal, You Have No Reason To Oppose Marijuana Legalization

In addition to the much-discussed abortion amendment, Ohio has a initiative on the ballot this year to legalize recreational marijuana.

A lot of other people are spewing a lot of information — some true, some less so. A lot of them have financial reasons to do so.

I urge you — and those around you — to carefully think about this… by thinking about booze.

I look at it this way: If I got to choose if every person in this country who is going to drink this weekend instead got high, I’d make it happen in a heartbeat.

Both substances can lead to problems, even life-threatening ones. I’ve seen friends and loved ones struggle with both. I’ve had up-close and personal experiences with both.

Neither of the two is "good" or "bad." Both drugs can be used responsibly for recreational reasons. Both can be abused.

But when you compare the effects — medical and social — of alcohol to those of marijuana, booze is far more harmful, hands down.

If you think that alcohol should also be prohibited, that’s fair.

But if you think booze should be legal, and THC not… you might want to really question why you think that before you vote.
