Let’s Just Take A Minute To Be Amused By Gatorade’s Cursed Product Launch

After literal decades making dubious claims that Gatorade is better than water, Gatorade launched a new drink this year.

Gatorade water.

It does not have all the "carbohydrates" (sugar) and electrolytes (sodium and potassium) that "normal" Gatorade has. Instead, the water, which has gone through a "7-step, enhanced filtration process," simply has 65 to 90 milligrams of sodium added to it — about 4% of the USRDA daily recommended amount.

That’s right. It’s just salty water.

That was launched in the beginning of 2024, in neat plastic bottles.

Right as this study was published that showed how microplastics leach from plastic water bottles into the liquid they contain.

Whoops.
